Co3O4 Nanoparticle-Decorated N-Doped Mesoporous Carbon Nanofibers as an Efficient Catalyst for Oxygen Reduction Reaction
A low cost, durable, and efficient electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reactions (ORR) is essential for high-performance fuel cells. Here, we fabricated Co3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) anchored on N-doped mesoporous carbon nanofibers (Co3O4/NMCF) by electrospinning combined with the simple heat treatment. Within this composite, carbon nanofibers possess a mesoporous structure, contributed to obtain ...
متن کاملAnchoring CoFe2O4 Nanoparticles on N‐Doped Carbon Nanofibers for High‐Performance Oxygen Evolution Reaction
The exploration of earth-abundant and high-efficiency electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is of great significant for sustainable energy conversion and storage applications. Although spinel-type binary transition metal oxides (AB2O4, A, B = metal) represent a class of promising candidates for water oxidation catalysis, their intrinsically inferior electrical conductivity ex...
متن کاملOxygen evolution reaction electrocatalyzed on a Fenton-treated gold surface.
Hydroxyl radicals arising from the Fenton reagent remove metastable surface gold atoms (low coordinated high-energy surface atoms) on the Au surface, thus precluding the formation of stable oxides. The resultant smooth surface, upon hydroxyl-radical activation, electrocatalyzes oxygen evolution reaction in 0.1 M NaOH at overpotentials lowered by 190 mV @ 10 mA cm(-2).
متن کاملEfficient oxygen evolution reaction catalyzed by low-density Ni-doped Co3O4 nanomaterials derived from metal-embedded graphitic C3N4.
A synthetic route to low-density porous Ni-doped Co3O4 nanomaterials that show stable and superior electrocatalytic activity for O2 evolution reaction is reported. The materials are prepared via thermal treatment of "pre-synthesized" metal ions-embedded graphitic C3N4-based polymers.
متن کاملSurface Structure Dependent Electrocatalytic Activity of Co3O4 Anchored on Graphene Sheets toward Oxygen Reduction Reaction
Catalytic activity is primarily a surface phenomenon, however, little is known about Co₃O₄ nanocrystals in terms of the relationship between the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalytic activity and surface structure, especially when dispersed on a highly conducting support to improve the electrical conductivity and so to enhance the catalytic activity. Herein, we report a controllable synthes...
